Mixed CDs. For the music lover in your life, put together a collection of songs that you think he/she will like, or songs that remind you of him/her. 1 did this for a few of my friends, and the nice part is that they can even upload your CD on to their iPod if they so choose.
DIY gifts may take a little more time to create, but in my experience, they are more memorable than random items bought at the store. If ail else fails, you can still send a nice card.
