Special to Atlantie Telegraph: Audubon, la., May 15—Friday afternoon about 4 p. m. Robert Feltuer living east of Audubon went to his brother's farm to make some fence taking his shot gun with him supposedly to shoot squirrels. His brother who is batching was out in the field planting corn. After getting to his brother's place Feltuer shot himself through the neck and then got a butcher knife and cut his throat. Not being satisfied he crawled into a straw stack and set fire to the stack. This seemed to bring him to his senses and he crawled out and telephoned to his wife and Dr. Childs, telling them to hurry to the place that something dreadful had happened. His brother by this time had seen the straw stack on fire and hurried to his home and found Feltner putting grease on his burns. When the doctor said how badly Feltner was burned and cut up he sent for Dr. Brooks and a nurse.
