We really put in a very happy winter at school. There were lakes in tha vicinity and the skating was mighty fine. We were expected to do a reasonable amount of studying, but w« were encouraged to take as much outdoor exercise as we could get, and 6 always filled the bill nobly in that respect. I don't mind telling you that didn't astonish anybody with scholarship that winter, but I stood A* No. 1 with the fellows, especially those who liked play better than books. Both Sturgis and myself were glveft places on the university nine, and we certaintly got good marks for our work In that direction, even if those we received in our classes were not quite satisfactory.
