I certainly was an active specimen of the rough and tumble variety of kid, and from the first day I found myself at the little red schoolhouse I made up my mind that going to school did. not appeal to me, and the longer I went the stronger my conviction that I was not cut out for a scholar. I was ready to admit that learning was a fine thing for some folks, but I didn't Include myself among the latter bunch, and I found the enforced confinement about the most disagreeable thing I was up against. For that reason I always appreciated the holidays, and I added many to my calendar that were not observed by anybody else.
