Funny combination, that name— ain't it? Makes you think of some of the old Roman emperors in the school histories. One day when there was no game I got a volume out of the public library and hunted up both my namesakes. To be frank with you, neither one of them made a hit with me. I am told that my mother had another name ail ready for me, but my father —usually the easi&st proposition in the Anson family—got up and rooted for Adrian Constantine until everybody was glad to let him win. I never knew exactly how It was that father was so set on that, combination until I read a newspaper account to the effect that the old gentleman was so in love with the state of Michigan that he named me after the two towns of that state in which he had lived. The writer of that article took occasion to congratulate me that the combination hadn't happened to be Ypsilantl Kalamazoo, and I couldn't help agreeing with him. There may have been some-
