He has risen through all the gradations of life, private and official, to the important office of Attorney General of the State of Iowa. While teaching school he yearned for a higher education and when he had acquired it he turned his attentiou to the law. The deeper he delved into the pages of legal lors ths more satisfied he became. His oases were always well prepared beoause of his deep research and this made hint popular with Judge and Jury. His success before the Courts brought him into prominence as a Barrister and eventually landing him int his present positiou.
