LT.-GEN. TAYLOR SUCCEEDS VAN FLEET Lt. Gen. Maxwell D. Taylor, a soldier who knows the Far East as well as the battlefields of Euroi>c. has been chosen as com mander of the Eighth Army in Korea. As head of this army, which includes all United Na tions ground forces in Korea. Taylor will be a key man in any new strategy the Eisenhower ad ministration may develop for hastening an end of the Korean stalemate. Taylor will succeed the retir ing 60-year-old Gen. James A. Van Fleet.
