Enters “Box and Cox”

In State Contest

Tor the first time in the history of Rapahannock County, the high school is entering the Virginia High School League One-Act Play Contest. For the premier performance, the newly organized Dramatics Club is presenting “Box and Cox,“a farce by J. M. Morton. The cast includes Mrs. Bouncer, a boarding house owner, portrayed by Mary Norman Davis, ' Mr. Box, a journeyman printer, .played by Galley Smith, III, and Mr. Cox, a journeyman hatter, played by Francis Bruce. The time of the play is the middle nineteenth century and the setting is one of the rooms in Mrs. Bouncer’s boarding house. This venerable female has let the room to two men, one of whom works in the daytime and sleeps at night and the other works at night and sleeps during the day. Her scheme is found out by the two gentlemen and the ensuing problems provide hilarious entertainment. - i
