Attend Electric
Project Meet
A large group of 4-H chib members from Flint Hill attended the first meeting for the electric project, in Washington, and an even larger group turned out for the second session. The new members of the class are Buddy Lillard, Charles Bowling, Jr., Marlyn Sutphin, and Paul Baker. There are so many things to be learned in reference to electricity that many of the boys and girls are taking the first unit for the second or third time. In this unit care of home appliances and simple repairs to cords are taught. Those taking the advanced unit are'learning how to build electric brooders, plan a home water system and plan a home lighting system, and how to read the electric meter. This must be done for several months in order to complete the project. When the record books are completed, some time early in the summer, the whole group plans to hold a picnic, as they did last year. The boy and girl who turn in the best record will be awarded a trip to Richmond in September. Second place winners will receive a medal.
