BANQUET—fro- Page 1 ^ ' group singing “America”, after which the toastmaster, Ralph Rowzie introduced the Rev. John B. Hodge, pastor of the Amissville Baptist church, who led in a prayer of thanks.
Due to die bad weather conditions, many representatives of Fire Companies in the surrounding territory were unable to be present, but Amissville was glad to welcome those from Flint Hill, Warren ton and Culpeper. Other guests present were Dr. J- R. Boldridge, Jas. W. Fletcher, Dan Wilson and A. C. Latham, hr.
Officers of the Ladies Auxili- , ary were then recognised. In the absence of the president Mrs. Mary Priest who has been hospitalized, Mrs. A. C. Latham, Sr; treasurer, presented the Fire Chief Lloyd Bywaters with a check for five hundred dollars from the Auxiliary.
Then the officers and previous officers of the A.V.F.D. were recognized by the toastmaster who got off a few good jokes on some of the firemen.
Next the group was favored with the musical selection "He” sung by Mrs. Floyd Hitt.
The Rev. Paul Watlington of Orange, Va. was guest speaker. He gave a very wonderful talk on “Keeping Christ First In Your

SMALL GRASS FIRE CAUSES NO DAMAGE
The Flint 31111 Fire Company was called to put out a grass Are at the E. C. Russell home near Flint Hill Thursday. Th« wind had blown a piece of burning paper from the incinerator into the yard. There was no damage.
