LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Dear Editor:
I do not know who is writing the histories of the churches in Rappahannock, but as long as 1 was a member of Flint Hill church for sixty years, 1 hope you will allow me to make a few corrections. Between the pastorate of Barnett Grimsley and Thomas F. Grimsley, Rev. I. N. May served the church for several years, I do not know the dates, as that was before I even lived near Flint Hill, and was too young to remember. I was baptized by Rev. A. J. Fristoe, who was succeeded by Hugh Goodwin, Atwell Tucker, and F. P. Berkley. Rev. M. _ F. Sanford was then pastor, until Charles Clement was called, about four years, I think. Mr. Clement came to the field in 1909, and served continuously until 1923, when he resigned, and was succeeded by Rev. George F. Cook. Rev. W. J. Reynolds was never pastor of Flint HilL
The remainder of the data is correct. Hope you will not think I am ‘butting in’, but we older folks remember past events pretty well.
