The only major money change proposed during debate oh the floor was one which would have raised by $1,000,000,000 the Air Force’s money to buy planes and other equipment. This was rejected, and there were no dissenting votes on the final roll call.
This did pot mean that all members of the House were fully satisfied that the amount in the bill, together with the large amounts previously appropiated but not actually paid out, represented precisely the proper amount to spend on defense in the next year.
