Wesley C. Phillips
The Rev. Wesley C. Phillips •' respected colored preacher died Sunday afternoon at four o’clock July 15th in the Winchester Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for about three weeks. He was employed by Ralph Rowx zie and family for a number.of years.He was the son of the late Charles and Sally Chunn Phillips, He is survived by two sons, and five daughters, Norman and James Phillips of Amissville, Mrs. 'Lula —Wigginton of Front Royal, Mrs. Elnora Jefferies of Aspers, Pa.; Mrs. Madeline Carter Mrs. Laura ( Johnson and Mrs. Pearl Groves of Amissville. Nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Winchester.
Funeral services were held. Wednesday afternoon, July 18th '' at 2 odock in the Mv Morah Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Ford of Front Royal and the Rev. Banks of Amissville. Interment was in the family cemetery at Amissville Church.
