The Flint Hill A. C.’s finished their league schedule over the Labor Day week end with a loss to Gordonsville on Sunday and a smashing victory over Rappahannock on Monday. Their final league record was 8-10, with the following record < against opposing teams: Orange', 4-0, Rappahannock, 2-1, Stanardsville, 2-2, Madison, 0-3, Gordonsville, 0-4, They had a 1-3 non-league record with one loss to Madison and a 1-2 record against Front Royal.
In Monday’s game Flint Hill took batting practice at the expense of Rappahannock pitchers to smash out a lop-sided 12-1 victory oyer the sagging Chiefs. After getting off to a moderate start by scoring three runs in the 2nd and one more in the 5th, they settled the issue in the 7th by scoring eight runs, as they sent 12 batters to the pUfe. Rappahannock’s lone run came in an unorthodox manner, a walk with the bases loaded. Flint Hill blasted 13 hits in all, while Lickliter limited Rappahannock to six well spaced, base knocks.
On. Sunday, Flint Hill dropped a thriller tw 1st pi*** Gordonsville by a close 1-0 score. Al though 'many of the key players were missing from both teams, the result was a well-played, exciting game. Both teams could make only three base hits in the pitchers duel.
