Mrs. Henry Huff of Sperryville who was born on Decembber 14, 1882 recently celebratedNher 75th birthday.

Mrs. Huff was born, reared and married at her home, “Mt. Pleasant" where, she is still living. 5hc was married 55 years ago on her birthday to the late Henry Huff.

Banquet February 14

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Amissville Fire Co. set/ Friday, February 14 for the 5th annual Fimnent’s Banquet at their regu„ lar meeting Tuesday night. , Mrs. Woodward, chaplain, opened the meeting with die devotionals and the treasurer reported.

Motions acted on were to have banquet and set date; to present the fire company with a check for $1,000; to have curtains in fire hall laundered. All motions passed.1

Mrs. A. C. Latham was appointed to secure a speaker for the banquet and Mrs. Sarah: Latham is to select invitations.

'Garden Club To Meet

With Mrs. Davis

The Garden'Club will hold its annual January meeting, Wednesday, January 29 with Mrs. Geo. i H. Davis, Jr., at her home, ‘ Ever Green” on Gay Street, the former home of Dr. arid Mrs. E. W. Brown. The chairman for the program will be Mrs. J. L. Yow* ell. The topic will be pruning flowering shrubery. The exhibit will be dried arrangement.
