Prices at Virginia auctions last weeck averaged out $24.75 for choice steers; $$2225 for good steers. That’s a dollar higher for the week; $3.50 higher than last year. And the improved level showed up in all cattle prices, with cows about $3 above a year ago; veal, $2.50 above.
At a special fat cattle sate in Fredericksburg last week, most animals sold were good grade steers at $24 to $24.50. Choice steers, while few in number, rang-. ed $25.50 to $26.40.
Choice heifers were $23.80 to $24.50; good heifers. $23 to $24.

Now that the Virginia price has adjusted to the short crop, we thnk com prices in the state will do about like soybean prices—no considerable change in die next month.
