Warren County has reported a case of paralytic polio, the first since 1954. The victim, an eleven year old white girl, living in front Royal, developed polio August 2 and is affected in the lower extremities and right arm. She is one of a family of four children and had not had any polio vaccine.

Prepa rations, for^Ami»vilie’s annua! Firemen’s Fall Festival, Aug. ust 21, 22, 23 are “full .steam. Straight ahead”, with everyone pitching in to help make the event the great success it has been in the past years. The carnival will be located-the same as last year, on, the lot of E. G. Tapp across 'from Tapp's Store.
The stands for the various games are being placed and arrangements have been made for Hobby Horses Ferris Wheel, swing and Kiddd * Rides. The Carnival Queen will be crowned on Thursday night and a big parade is featured for Friday night with the presentation of the Chevrolet and Television Set on Saturday. I " ,
The Ladies Auxiliary, in charge of the food stand,* will offer the usual hot dogs, hamburgers, coffee etch night and a plate supper on Friday night. " There will be plenty of soft, drinks, ice cream, homemade cakes,’ ■cookie, etc. available too. They will be looking for you.
