We were so sorry to be sway HalWcew w4fbt. We J«« faee having the youngcrewd comefor trick or treat, hut Uncle John waa there and he had candy ready far them. The Jack Millers said they had more to drop by their home, Millermead, Friday Evening than ■ they have had iff a good many years and Achsah said they were so well behaved. What we do not like to hear is that some of die older boys and girls use Hallow- ‘ een as an excuse to destroy. That is bad and as a rule it always hurts the ones that are out for srime good old fashioned fun.
Well it's certainly hard to believe that Thjuiksgiving is almost here and Christmas just 45 mopping days away. Oh well--that doesn’t worry us. Just give us three days to rush, rush, rush and we can finish our shopping and really get the Christmas spirit.
Today Sfcrah is making die rounds for me in Culpeper and Warrenton. 1 know she will enjoy seeing the beautiful things the stores have on display and seeing all the nice folks she worked with before I joined the staff of the Rappahannock News. * Last Wednesday night we went to Hugh Robert’s birthday at The Meadows to take pictures. What a sight to see all the little children with their parents who were having as much fun as the children. Judge Miller sitting in a nice , comfortable chair looking pleased as punch (which he aways does when Hughie is around) and we really did get some good pictures, especially one of Mr. Quasebarth.
We had the nicest weekend in Richmond, but I had truly forgotten how fast a year: old child can travel and how many different things they can get into at one time but thanks to the help of Maria Meade’s older sister we did not fare too badly. In fact we had worlds of fun. Anhui? went to the Saint Christopher-Wood berry Forest game with our neice Roberta and our nephew Mason.
