Mystery Farm

The Myptery^ Farm last week was “Spring House Farm” located on Route 211 about four oaks east of Washington and two miles west of Ben Venue. The farm is ~ remembered in Rappahannock as the ‘‘old Best cottage”. It is owned by Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Smith of Falls Church and Washington, Va., who spend most weekends and a good deal of the surpmer/at the farm. ^

Harry Lee Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. South, maids his home there with his wife, the former Virginia Duncan of Alexandria, and their two daughters, Lee and Molly.

The farm contains 211 acre* where general fanning is done, an 4 four acres are in orchard.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith purchased the farm in 1937,. remodeling it in 1947. The old kitchen in the cellar has a walk-in fire place. j The Smiths attend the Episcopal Church. Harry Lee Smith has recently been appointed probation and parole officer for the- 11th Parole District of Virginia. /

Miss Annie Cooksey was the first person to identify the farm and Miss Everette Estes also guessed correctly.
