After the awarding of certificates by Miss Eva Minix, District Agent, election of the 4959-60 officers was held. Those elected were: President, Walter B. Kilby; V-Presiderrt, Jean Lillard SecTreas., Shirley Smoot;' Devotions leader, Judy Kay Lillard; Song leader, Mrs. Barbara Gentry. A colorful candlelightt ceremony concluded the program.
To be an Honor Club member one must be at least fourteen years old and not only have been in 4-H work for at least three years but must have excelled in their project work, have shown leadership and have been an “outstanding young citizen” of his or her community The main purpose of the Honor Club is to recognize 4-H members who have the above qualifications and in turn it is their responsibility to achieve the following goals:
fa) helo at least two younger 4-H members with their project work and records.
(b) help with officer training meeting at the fall County Council meeting.
(c) help with annual 4-H year book.
