Mr. Wharton served with the l .S. Army from 1942 to 1946. Three years were spent in foreign service. He is survived by his wrife Mrs. Della Smoot Wharton, two daughters; ore brother and one sister, all of Washington, Va.
Graveside services were conducted by Rev. John /Divers at the Masonic Cemetery, Washington, Va. on Monday, June 8. Active pallbearers were Earnest Fincham, Gibson' Wharton, Wilson Fincham, Herbert Finahcm, MT 11 o n Frazier and Waverly Frazier.
