In Richmond this week, buyers were paying $17.25 to $17.50 and Baltimore hog prices for die week ranged from $18 to $18.50.

Look for hog prices to be steady with slight undertones of strength for the next couple of weeks.
Farrowrings giving marketable hogs for June were up about 15 per cent from a year earlier.. Watch for some of this excess in supply to carry over into July even though only a five per cent increase is anticipated for that month. The summer price peak should come about mid or late July—it will not be the substantial rise experienced in most years, however.
There is no reason to push your hogs to market if they haven’t the proper finish. Feed them to between 180 and 240 before sending them to market.
You stand to come out better, pricewise, by giving some dose attention to daily market quotations Keep in contact with market prices each day and take advantage of any strength that might show up.
