Farm Service Award

W. H. Lvne has been (elected by the County Agents of, the State to receive the 1959 Distihgjj«hed Farm Service Award at the National County Agent’s - Convention September 6-10 at Kansas City, Mo. This is quite an honor-and one that every county agent is proud to receive as it is conferred but once in a life time. : vThe

1959 award will be presented to three agents in Virginia at a dinner in their honor on September 8th. ■ ' 'l^r'irTr^donft^of ‘ V.P.I. and has been rounty agent in Rappahannock since July 1946. He is an advocate of raising livestock quality and individual farm management to the extent that other‘county agents have attempted to copy his techniques. He ha* just submitted a program to give 4-H youngsters interested hr horticultural projects recognition similar to that given to other phase* of club work.

His willingness to share knowledge and experience with >ounger i gents in training has been proven as former assistant agents are now county agents in Culpeper, Warren and Northumberland and assistant agents hi Madison and Rappahannock Counties;
