13. J. Wood, Herbert L. Fostei, J. \V. Coates and E. M. Jones represented Rappahannock at the annual meeting of the Virginia State Horticultural Society held in Hotel Roanoke the Past week. Mr. Jones, who has served as president and director, of the organization, was accompanied by Mrs. Jones.

J. Kenneth Robinson of Winchester, president of the Virginia Bargaining Association and the Four-State Bargaining Association, reviewed the work of these organizations. In closing his speech he said,“ The fanner has reached a “bread and butter crisis”, the question is, can a fanner make a living out of his fann efforts and a fair profit out of his investment ?”
