Ranger Bob Johnson

Promoted

R. Taylor Hoskins, Superintendent of Shenandoah National Park, has announced that ParkRanger James R. (Rob) Johnson has been promoted to the District Ranger position being vacated by Charles A. Budge. Mr. Johnson will move from his present residence in Front Royal to the Front Royal Ranger Station at the North Fntranee of the Park.

Mr. Johnson is a native of Rappahannock County where he had his early schooling at Sperryville and Washington, Va.. We is married to the former Miss Stella Dennis and they have two sons.

Mr. Johnson first entered the Park Service as a seasonal ranger in 1046. He received his B.S. degree in Forestry from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1033, and, with the exception of a four month tour of duty with the Food and Drug Administration, in Baltimore, Md., has been employed at Shenandoah ajnd served in the North. Centra! and South Districts as well as the Ranger Office in the Administration Building. He is a veteran of World War II. having served as a Mechanic and Flight Engineer, USAF, in the European Theatre of Operations.

Mr. Johnson was a candidate from Shenandoah to attend the Yosemite National Park, California, Training Program during the spring of 1958j
