Md. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thornhill were Sunday dinner guests of the Burkes.

Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Chewings and son of Orange were recent Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Weaver.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. 'Hudson of Culpeper were Sunday afternoon, callers of Dr. and Mrs. R. W. Quaintance.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Racer and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Atkins and children in Sperryville.

Mr. and Mrs. Conner Jenkins and Mrs. Venie Jenkins of Culpeper were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Henry Sisk of Sperryville. Rey. Maxon Butler of Luray was also a dinner guest.

Mrs. Charles Thornhill returned to her home Sunday from -the University of Virginia Hospital where she underwent surgery recently. .Mrs. Joe Hawkins has been called to care for Miss Janie Hawkins who is quite sick.

Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Burke and daughters, Patsy and Faye, spent the weekend in Washington, D. C. as the guests of Mrs. Annie King. While there they went sightseeing and visited other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Bennett of Alexandria spent the weekend at the home of Mrs. Bennett’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Burke.

To Bridge Club

Mrs. James W. Coates entertained the Sperryville Bridge Club on Friday evening at the home of her mother, Mrs. J.. P. Snead with the following guests: Mrs. V. E. (ioddard, Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. R. G. Quaintance, Mrs. H. B. Winfrey, Mrs. Roy Reeve, Mrs. I. R. Kilby, Mrs. L. J. Kilbv, Mrs. Allen Stokes, Mrs. R. E. Thompsen, Mrs. John P. Snead, Jr., Mrs. T. J. Pillar and Mrs. Fred Schaefer.

At the conclusion of the game prizes were awarded Mrs. Goddard and Mrs. Thompsen.
