In addition to the usual Easter, Sunday services held at Washington Baptist Church, children of yester-year looked forward with joy to their annual Egg Hunt and Egg Rolling on Easter Monday.
The late Mrs. J. Frank Jones,'&a( teacher for many years, sponsored the event with- the cooperatino of many. Everyone wanted to help “Gates” and the event was enjoyed bv young.middle aged and old.
There were eggs by the dozen. never a shortage of cookies to be passed around after the hunt was over and prizes awarded.
The Easter Egg Hunt was always held on the lawn at “Tranquility,” the home of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Carter. Age( groups had their separate “huntingi grounds” and the little folks, some-| how, managed to bring in as many eggs as the older ones. i
