Carnival Opened In
Sperryville
Sperryviljle’s annual firemens carnival opened last night and will continue through Saturday, July 21. Tonight a mammouth parade is the highlight of the evening with over 4 hundred units entered. Besides approximately 38 fire trucks accepting invitations, there are ten rescue squads, seven ladies auxiliaries, and five fire company marching units.
Also appearing are the Luray Drum & Bugle Corps, American Legion Drum & Bugle Corps of Fredericksburg, the Rouss Sparky Drum & Ijlugle Corps and Virginia Lancers, both of Winchester. The Marshall Junior Band will be present, as well as, five honorary fire chiefs and floats. The Boy Scout Troiop of Sperryville will lead the parade.
Following the parade, a Virginia ham or chicken dinner will be availably on the grounds along with ham sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, coffee and cold drinks.
Friday evening a pony will be given awayi Saturday the grand prize, a 1962 Fairlane Ford will be awarded!
This is good wholesome family entertainmemt. Fun for all.
Revival At Forest
Grove Church
Revival services will start Sunday night, July 22 at the Forest Grove Baptist Church. The 7:45 p.m .services will be conducted each evening by the Rev. Jack Coker, pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church; The meeting will close Friday evening.
