Wade Hampton Massie, Jr. 64, prominent farmer and civic leader of Washington, Va., died Sunday, May 5 at his home following a sudden illness. He was a native of Rappahannock County, son of the late Wade H. Massie, Sr. and Lizzie Fletcher Massie. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ada Mae Miller Massie, one daughter, Mrs. William G. Eastham of Amissville; three sons, Wade H. Massie, III and Thomas B. Massie, both of Washington and James Fletcher Massie of Amissville, and nine grandchildren.
At the time of his death Mr. Massie was Vice-President and a Director of the Rappahannock National Bank; President of Rappahannock Home Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Washington, Va. and President of the Washington Volunteer Fire Co. A graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday May 7, in the Massie family cemetery at Meadow Grove Farm, Rappahannock County with the Rev. C. F. Melton officiating. Pallbearers were William Smith, Sr. T. Carlyle Lea, Jr., D. Lyle Miller, Jr., D. D. Miller, C. J. Miller, Charles Bruce, James W. Fletcher, P. Lee Thornton, George W. Beahm and' Robert L. Massie, Jr.

Will Meet May 15th
The last meeting of Washington Elementary School P. T. A. to be held this session will take place Wednesday, May 15, 1963 at 7:30 p. m. in the school auditorium. A discussion will be held on the possibility of parents handling the resale of used text books. The program for the 1963-64 session will also be tentatively planned.
