The second week of school ended in a roar of drills as work progressed on the new addition. Except for these minor distractions everything ran exceptionally well for the short time in which school has been open. I think we should be very proud of ourselves and the administration for mafe ing the system run so smooth ly. I hope the students will all do their part to make it continue. The Student Cooperative As sociation Council met for the first time Thursday, Sept. 1, Joan Lee, President of the Council this year, conducted the meeting, during which she outlined the qualifications and rules of conduct for the new officers: Jean Woodard, VicePresident, Carter Moffett, Secretary, Stuart Henry, Treasurer and Nancy Buntin, Reporter. Mr. Wingfield and Miss Zinn, our advisors, assisted the Council in setting up its aims and objectives for the year. The election of homeroom representatives was scheduled for Tuesday and those elected were; 12th grade, C. E. Dodson, Francis Tharp; 11th grade, Sandra Foster, Law rence Ricker; 12th grade, Janet Hackley, Tommy Williams; 9th grade, Warren Smith, Linda Jenkins, James Mills; 8th grade, Mary Jenkins Bobby Joe Foster and William Jones. Another big meeting of the week took place Friday when the Annual Staff held its first session with the Delmar Publishing Company representative, Mr. Vestal, and <|ur sponsor, Mrs. Kilby. We h»e ari’ettmusiMStiC' sf&ff this ydpr and will aim for the best year book yet. The Senior girls lost their mascot last week when the goldfish brought by Mrs. Wolf died. Mrs. Wolf is studying her "fish book” and will try again very soon to stock anoth er fish bowl. Good luck, Mrs. Wolf! We're all behind you.
