State, County Tags
Go on Sale Monday
State and County auto license '■ tags will go on sale Monday, March 16,1970 in Rappahannock County. This year, for the first time^the. cpunty ^ tag. will be -a windshield sticker instead of the metal plate formerly used. The fee remains the same, $10.
County tag stickers will be sold at the office of County Treasurer Robert L. Brown located in Washington. Hours for purchase of tags will be 8:30 to 4:30 daily and on Saturday from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. Personal property taxes must be paid and the auto registration card stamped by the Commissioner of Revenue, Mrs. Roberta Spalding. Declaration of personal property for 1969 must also be made with her prior to securing tags.
State auto tags are sold at the Sperryville Corner Store with Wilson Burke as license agent. Sale hours there are 8 a.m. to 5 a.m. week days and on Saturday 8 a.m. until noon. Mr. Burke reminds everyone to fill out their registration card before hand to avoid unnecessary delay. He also said there is ample parking space at the rear of the store.
