THE Potomac Lily Society is sponsoring the 26th Annual Lily Show of the North American Lily Society July 6, 7, and 8 at the U. S. National Arboretum, Bladensburg Road and R Streets, N. E., Washington, D. C.
The public is invited to attend the show Friday, July 6, 2:30 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 8, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Any local lily grower is invited to enter his lily stem on Thursday July 5 from 1 to 9 p.m.
At the suggestion of Mrs. Richard Cutts of The Plains, following is the tour scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday:
Cain retires
Franklin Cain of Chester Gap retired June 22 after 17 years of employment with Virginia schools. He taught in the Falls Church High School and after receiving a master’s degree from George Washington University was counselor several years in Hayfield High School at Fort Hunt.
