A few groups of steer calves sold at Abingdon topped the market at $74. 25, but the top price on any sizable group was $73. 75 for 33 head of medium Charolais calves averaging 387 pounds sold at the Winchester sale.

trout rule
Jack Hoffman, Chief of the Game Commission’s Fish Division, has reminded Virginia fishermen that July 1 marks the beginning of a major change in trout possession limits.
Beginning on that date the total number of trout that anglers may have in their possession has been reduced from eight to six. This change was adopted by the Game Commission in an effort to achieve better distribution of the popular fish among trout fishermen. □

Bailey, Sr. Major Williams and family were enroute to Ardmore, Pa. from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. After spending some time with their family in Ardmore, Major Williams and family will be stationed in Hawaii for three years.
