Witold Kuncewicz, a native of Poland, who immigrated to the United States in 1952, has designed and is manufacturing a vibratory compactor in a plant established in Sperryville. This small unit, by using a high frequency vibrator in double drums, achieves in minutes what a large plain roller would do in a great length of time. Some of these units are being used in the District of Columbia Metro construction.
