Turner is
sentenced
LAWRENCE TURNER of Huntly was sentenced to 20 years in jail on each of two felony charges, the armed robbery of Graham and Dorothy Hackley and entering the Hackley’s dwelling in Amissville on the night of July 9.
Sentence was pronounced by Judge R.V. Snead in Rappahannock County Circuit Court November 24. The sentences will run consecutively, making a total of 40 years.
Turner also received a third 20year sentence and five years each
three other indictments, all of which will run concurrently with the first two sentences. Twelve other indictments were dismissed.
Turner, 21, and Russell Leonard Jordan, 24, of Amissville, were apprehended by Sheriff W. A. Buntin and Deputies a short while after the robbery occurred in the bedroom of the Hackley home. Jordan entered a plea of guilty and received a five year suspended sentence after testi-,{ mony showed him as an accompl-J ice. He supplied evidence for the"" state.
Turner’s original plea of noty guilty was charged after he elected not to have a jury trial an<£“ requested a hearing before Judg^Snead.
OTHER recent action in Circ Court included the amendment a charge of statutory burglary andT grand larceny to receiving stolen^ goods for James Emmett McGuinn, Jr. Following a report by a probation officer dispostion of the case will be January 10, 1977.
Joyce Ellen Criss, charged with grand larceny entered a plea of guilty and a pre-sentence report mil be heard December 22. □
