In his opening remarks, Delano reminded delegates that the main purpose of the convention was to consider the more than 100 resolutions from the 86 county Farm Bureaus, and to adopt Virginia Farm Bureau policy for 1977. Farm Bureau is the largest farm organization in Virginia with more than 44,875 member families. This year the organization added 7,200 new members.
