giene. All these subjects were taught by one teacher to seven grades. When she was in the third grade, they built a new school. The new school was a two-room school with two teachers. One teacher taught grades 1-3; the other teacher taught grades 4-7. The children had a lot of work to do and learned a lot. There was no Negro high school they could go to in the County. If they wanted to finish school, they had to go North and live with relatives.
