Carson L. Shiflet passad away ai the home of his son, Fred Sbiilef at Hamlin, Iow a Friday,- May 19, lltll at 3:15 a. m. He was born and raised to manhood in ihe good old state of Virginia. He was married there to Miss Eary MorriR. To this union eleven children were born four of them having gone before to wait for the others. He leaves & wife and seven children to mourn their loss. They ara Eliza Zimmerman of Canning, S. D., Charley of Harper, la., Ludy Gott of Brooklyn, Iowa, Carrie Emery of Kansas City, Mo., Fred of Hamlin, Iowa, Maude and Rachael of Osceola, Iowa. He came to Wilton Junction, Iowa in 1876 and has been a resident of Iowa ever since. The past few years he had made his home at Osceola. He has been an invalid for the past three years and had been visiting at the home of his son, Fred for the past three months. He was 72 years, 2 months and 7 days old at the time of hie death. He was a member of the M. E. Church. He was laid to rest in the family lot at Tilton, Iowa Sunday, May 2l.
