In a year or two this boy can have several bushels of seed from this ear.
It is safe to say that in every farmer's seed corn there are eara that will produce from 20 to 50 bushels per acre more with the same stand than other ears which may look just as good. The only method of finding these is to plant a number of individual rows each year and weed out the ears that do not produce. It Is the same process that we use with animals when we discard the poor breeders.—Iowa Agriculturist.
