William Steptoe Hitt

William Steptoe Hitt, 80, of Amissville died in Physicians hoi* pital, Warrenton, Sunday, December 11. He was injured in ea automobile accident November 25, near his home.

Mr. Hitti was born and reared in Rappahannock county, the son of Albert and Lucy Ann Hitt, and was a retired farfner of Amiss* ville. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Magdeline Hitt, a son, Raymond Hitt, and a daughter, Miss Rosie Hitt, of Amissville;. three brothers, Milton and John Hitt of Amissville and Hugh Hitt of Arlington; and Ihree sisters, Mrs. 'Lula Holmes, 'Mrs. Annie Weaver, and Mrs. Susie Hitt, of Amissville. i

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 13, from the Amissville Methodist church, with the Rev. N, J. Flythe officiating. Burial was in the flmily section '.®f AmlstviUe cemetery, -h ■ -

Church Programs

The annual Christmas service of Reynolds Memorial Baptist church will be held at the church Friday, 'December 23, at 8 p.m. The program will be in the form or a-candlelight service with Mrs. ,C. E. Johnson, Jr., as director, and Jack Brown as soloist.

The children’s department of the Sunday school will present a program on Christmas morning at 10:15. Amissville Baptist—Candlelight Service Wednesday, December 21, at 8 p.m.
