The movie ‘ICarry Me Back to Old Virginia” was enthusiastically received by a large audience on Friday, December 9. The opening and closing scenes were from the Red Oak mountain near Woodville.
Unusually bea tiful cloud effects enhanced the 'distant views from the mountain top and Raymond Johnson’s red cow lent color to the close-up scenes. .
Pictures were also shown of the Winchester apple blossom festival, of the Warrenton Horse Show, of the Fredericksburg Dog Mart, of the State Fair in Richmond. There were close-up views of birds feeding their young and , many other young animals and flowers, also the harvesting of peanuts and of tobacco and the tonging of oysters. *This was the eighth showing of this movie by Edward F. Cross, who took the pictures.
We feel that any organization would feel thfit $25 was well spent in securing this educational picture..

Approximately forty pupils and teachers went to Orange in a bus driven by Clyde Atkins, on Friday evening, December 9, for the boys’ basketball games.' The smaller boys* team played first. Orange won by a score of 3-3-15. Sperryville larger boys also lost to Orange by a score of 81-18.
