Mrs. John S. Browning entertained four tables of bridge at " her home in Flint Hill on Mondayi - evening. Those playing were Mrs. B. J. Wood, Mrs, E. R. Browning, Mrs. Charles Wood, Mrs. Claude Cook, Mrs. Paul Miller, Mrs. Da* vid Corbin, Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Mrs. W. A. Moore, Mrs. Jack Dabney, Mrs. Billy Gilbert, Mrs. Emory 'Russell, Miss Minnie Williams, Mrs. Fisher Burford, Mrs. M. R. Bradford, and Mrs. Johnnie MeiGehee. Mrs. Billy Gilbert won first prise; Mrs. Jack Dabney, second high; and Mrs. W; A. Moore, traveling prize.

Appointment of two associate professors in the dairy department, and one in the forestry department,, aone in the forestry department, was announced this by Extension Service officials at V. P. I.

James W. Howe, who rolds a B. S. and M. S. from V. P. I., and who has taught vocational agriculture in Augusta county for three years, will be in charge of 4-H club dairy work;

Keith A. Huston, a native of Lyndhurst, Ohio, will be in charge of artifical breeding work in the dairy department. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin, and has had extensive experience- in dairiy farm menagemen*.

Addison B. Lion, Beckley, W.. Va., a graduate of the University -of Georgia, and former Extension forester in West Virginia, has been appointed associate professor . in the forestry department.. In the field: Lewis I}. Smith, Mullins, S.C., a 1949 graduate of Clemson College, has been appointed agent trainee In Pitta sylvapia. ' J : ?

Miss Betty' Jo Sams, graduate
