neighbors and friends in for a dinner Friday evening. The basis of the dinner were the Oven Dishes prepared during demonstration on inexpensive and nutritious oven meals. After the meal, Miss Elizabeth Jenkins showed colored slides of Japan and told about her visit to Japan as an army nurse.

New members to join the Slate Mills H.D. group were Mrs. Robert Boyd, Miss Elizabeth Jenkins and Mrs. A. L. Weaver.

Guests at the meeting were Mrs. Jessie Rowzie, A. L. Weaver, Robert Boyd and son, and Clifton Nethers.

Engagement Announced

Mrs. Robert Coleman Wyland of Richmond announces die engagement of her daughter, Joyce Ann Farrar, to A/C Carroll Menefee, Jr., U. S. Air Force, son of Mrs. Carroll Mene■ fee and the late Col. Menefee, of Sperryville.

HORSE SHOW LUNCHEON

Around 75 exhibitors at the Warrenton Horse Show were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. D. B. SflfKth and Mr. and Mrs. North Fletcher at the Fletcher home on Monday. Mr. Smith is president of the Associaton.

FIREMEN’S MEETING . The Rappahannock Fire Department wll have a special business meeting Friday, September 11 at 8 o'clock. This meeting is for the purpose of discussing the buying of new equipment.
