More than 40 volunteer fire departments from all neighboring towns and cities, incuding Culpeper, Warrenton, Sperryville, Washington, Round Hill, Elkton, Orange, Marshall, Brandy, Remington, The Plains, Front Royal, Leesburg, and even Cabin John and Branchville, Md., have been officially invited to join in the grand parade at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Neary all assignments of personnel that will operate the stands of fun and skill have now been made, and arrangements for fun rides and ferris wheel have been completed.
Included among operators are 211 members of the ladies auxiliary and Thomas Stover, Mitchell Green, Paul Silvey, Elmer Lillard, Manuel Pullen, Frank Zinn, Leedy Pullen, Graham Hackley, A. J. Bailey, Floyd Hitt, lElmer Jenkins, Braxton James, Ralph Rowzie, Carl Padgett, Col. J. N. Caperton and Capt. Luther Stuart A donation of $25 from Leonard Barron and one of $12 from Graham Hackley have been added to the volunteer fire department’s fund.
4-H Clubs Plan Fair
The 4-H clubs of Rappahannock are working on a county 4-H fair on October 3. It will give club members a chance to exhibt work done in the past year and the public a chance to see this work. Contests for all ages are planned with a night program. Girls may enter work done in Food, clothing, room improvement,' home grounds, beautification, record books, and camp crafts. Boys may enter poultry and rabbits, livestock, crops, records, camp crafts and articles made in Rural Eletrification.
Each H. D. club is invited to make an educations? exhibit. Some of the booths include bingo, fish pond, balloons, pop corn and food. Contests planned are rooster races, greased pole, three legged race and horn blowing for men.
Plan to come and spend the day at the fair.
