O. C. Mast, Extension Animal Husbandman of V. P. I., reports: “Cattle sales have been extremeijr - numerous-this fall and bulls have been relatively cheap.
Most breeders have castrated more bull-calves this year than usual and it is possible that we could have a —very keen bull market next spring.” Your scribe concurs with Mr. Mast so, “replace when you find a good one,” By “relatively cheap” Mr. Mast no doubt means related to prices in previous years for there is hardly any such thing as a cheap bull, by this I mean for example that a bull costing the' least number of dollars frequently proves to be the most expensive of-a given lot simply because he sires poor quality and poor doing off-spring. Remember the old -adage “Like begates like” still*holds water'. ' ’
