The Rappahannock Chiefs continued their move up in the Shenandoah League Standing by outpacing Mt. Jackson, to' win 6-1, Sunday afternoon and thus stepping to a second place tie with Middletown. #

The Chiefs took over the game early in the first on hits by Shrother Brown and Buck Clater, a double by Ned Settle, single by Elmer Foster, a long triple by Roxy Clater and a single by John Turner, accounting for their first 4 runs.
Again in the fourth, the Chiefs scored with John Turner took a base on balls and Jackie Sisk knocked out a clean single. An' error scored the fifth rup.
Buek and Roxv, Clater with— singles; were responsible for the Chiefs’ final run, gained in the seventh.
A single by Lytton of the Mt. Jackson Athletic Club, and a long triple by Dellinger scored their lone run in the eighth.
Jackie Sisk was the winning pitcher while Neff was written off as the loosing pitcher.
Manager Mahlon Ramey praised the Chiefs’ teamwork, saying that Sunday’s game was the Chiefs best of the year. « ■
