The thousands of Red Cross volunteers in the Commonwealth of Virginia consider it a privilege to present you with a copy of the Annual Report of the American .National Red Cross for the year enffding June 30, 1934. This re• port reflects detailed information of .the varied programs of service American Red Cross volunteers are rendering to this state and the nation.
We are especially proud of the nature and extent of Red Cross service being rendered on a daily . basis by 118 Red Cross chapters in Virginia. An 'indication of the extent of the services of volunteer ^workers to those in need is the fact that they devote'd a total of 271,984 hours to Red Cross work during the past year.^Your Re®. Cross volunteers have also brought relief to victims of disaster, donated’ blood and helped to administer a blood collection program for civilian and defense needs, provided assistance to members of the armed forces, veterans and their families; - offered self-help training courses in first aid, water safety and home care of the sick, and educated young people in the value of good citizenship. ,
