In spite or all tnat nas Deen saia of today’s push-button housekeeping, demand for home demonstration work has increased. One hundred and four homemakers in Rappahannock have volunteered - and been trained as leaders of these groups during the last year.
Many women turn to this educational work to help their families adjust to changing times. Those with'the double job of wage earning and homemaking ask for help in efficient management, especially time and labor-saving methods. The shift from home production of goods to purchasing has brought a demand for training in wise buying. The increasing numbers of young children and elderly people in our population has caused many women to ask for
their care. special programs on Farm families whose incomes have dropped in recent years want the latest methods of production, preservation and conservation of food or other “do-it-yourself” training that will stretch the family dollar. These are only a few of the many lines in which home demonstration work helps the homemaker and thus her family and community. The theme of the annual celebration continues to be “Todays home builds tomorrow!* worlds.
