Jl; S. Barksdale of Flint Hill was elected county chairman in the ASC committeemen election held locally Friday, August 26. Other county officials included D. D. Miller, vice-chairman; J. M. O’Bannon^ regular member; J. Rodes Brown, first alternate and J. B. Corder, second alternate. The committeemen as elected in the 5 voting places in the county districts are as follows: Stonewall Community: Raymond M. John. son, chairman; K. H. - Every year Rappahannock citizens use'more blood from the Red Cross Blood Bank than is given by them in the blood bank’s annual visit to the county. ; 1 % This blood is given to patients from counties that are in this blood program, free of any ties. There is no charge for the blood, nor is there any requirement to replace the blood used by getting friends to give blood. ” Each year the number of demon has been comparatively small. If, the county continues9 to fall under its quota, it may be necessary to discontinue the program.
September 7 at 8 o’clock there will be a special meeting at the Court House in Washington to discuss the importance of the program and plans for this year’s visit September ?1. Dr. Raymond O. Dart, Director of Washington Regional BloOd Center, will be .present. :• '
