Mrs. Keith Johnson and daughter, of Front Royal were Sunday callers in the T. M. Johnston home.
Miss Margaret Compton was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Compton and Mrs. .Jessie Rowzie.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Russell were in town Saturday visitiing friends, enroute to Front Royal where they were guests of the Q. D. Gasques. On their way home they also visited in town. Mr. Russell, (principal of W. H. S. -for several years), is now teaching at a Boys’ Military Academy near his home in Collegepark, Georgia.
Mrs. Lynn Dulaney and Mr. and Mrs. Field Benton visited Mrs. A. H. Blacklock in Catonsville, Maryland, Friday. Miss Annie Miller Almond left Wednesday for Herndon for the teaching session. She will be home for the long Labor Day week end.
Friends of Mrs. Della Partlow ; are sorry to hear of her continued bad health.
Mrs. Alice Fincham of Berryville is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Burke. Mrs. Lizzie Racer and Willie Racer of Berryville visited the Burke family Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Arthur Edmonds and daughter, Becky were callers on Clyde Jenkins and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Burke last Monday evening.
Mrs. R. L. Baumgardner and sons, Leroy and Roger were Monday callers on Mr. and Mrs. Jack Petty and Mrs. Kate Petty. Miss Crystal Breeden of Culpeper was also a guest of the Pettys at their home, Avon Cottage.
Mrs. Harry Lillard and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hawkins with their daughter, Linda, visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Petty and Mrs. Kate Petty, Sunday.
